Course Description (课程介绍):

This AMC 10 preparation course develops mastery of geometry and related topics through the Art of Problem Solving – Introduction to Geometry curriculum. Through strategic chapter combinations, students will build a comprehensive foundation in Euclidean geometry while developing AMC 10 problem-solving skills through weekly practice problems from past competitions.

Prerequisite:

Objectives (教学目标):

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

1. **Apply fundamental geometric principles** to solve AMC 10/12-level problems

2. **Write clear, logical geometric proofs** using proper notation and reasoning

3. **Visualize and construct** geometric figures using straightedge and compass

4. **Recognize and apply** key theorems in triangles, circles, polygons, and 3D geometry

5. **Use multiple approaches** including synthetic, coordinate, and transformation methods

6. **Solve problems** involving similarity, congruence, area, volume, and trigonometry

Teaching Methods (教学方法):

I believe in creating a **rigorous, exploration-oriented learning environment** where students develop both **geometric intuition** and **formal proof-writing skills**. My approach emphasizes:
- Building strong foundational understanding of geometric principles
- Developing visual-spatial reasoning and problem-solving strategies
- Practicing construction techniques and formal proofs
- Preparing for AMC 10/12 competition-level geometry problems
- Creating a collaborative community of mathematical thinkers

Student/Parent Responsibilities (学生,家长责任义务):

**Students:**

- Complete all assigned homework before next class

- Actively participate in discussions and proof presentations

- Attempt problems independently before seeking help

- Keep a dedicated geometry notebook with theorems, constructions, and practice problems

- Review class notes and theorems within 24 hours of each session

**Parents:**

- Provide a quiet study environment and necessary materials

- Encourage consistent practice and theorem memorization

- Communicate with instructor about challenges or special needs

- Support student's mathematical persistence and curiosity
